I went to one of my good friends 50th birthday parties the other night.  We had so much fun!  She said ‘no gifts’ on the invite but I wanted to make her a little something special anyway.  I searched Pinterest for idea’s and then put my own spin on them. Here is what I came up with.  NOTE* While I was going to a 50th birthday party you can easily change this to cater to ANY age.

I bought this large mason jar from Target, some Hersey kisses, and some individually wrapped Lifesaver mints.

I searched online for quotes on aging.  I copied and pasted 50 different ones and then printed them out.  Some are inspirational, and some funny, but they are all entertaining quotes.  Here is a sample…

“Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.” — Mark Twain

It’s not your 50th birthday. It’s your 29th anniversary of your 21st birthday. 

Life is change. Growth is optional. Choose wisely.

“Looking fifty is great – if you’re sixty.”  -Joan Rivers

“Aging only happens to people who lose their lust for getting better and disconnect from their natural base of curiosity.” -Robin Sharma

You are younger today than you ever will be again. Make use of it  for the sake of tomorrow. 

I cut them and then stapled them onto the mints.  This is where the ‘mint’spiration, encourage’mint’ and entertain’mint’ comes into play.  Get it. 😉  For the quotes that were longer than this one shown below, I simply folded them in half.

To assemble it, I layered the Hersey kisses into the jar first (so she can ‘kiss’ her 40’s goodbye).  I bought 3 different flavor kisses because it was buy 3 bags for $10, but you can use any flavor your like.  Next, I added the mints (after I stapled the quotes on them).  Lastly, I designed this card on canva.com with the silly puns, printed it out and taped it to the jar.  Viola!  Now she can read a little something everyday, or every time she feels like having a mint or a Hersey kiss, and hopefully they make her smile, laugh or make her think about life.
