This is a super simple DIY project you can complete in under an hour. The best part? You can get all the materials at Dollar Tree, so it won’t break the bank. Here is how to make your own charming DIY Boho ghosts. Gather your materials and follow our step-by-step guide, and in no time, you’ll have unique, handmade ghosts to add to your spooky décor. Happy crafting!

Materials Used for this Project…

Glue Gun, Glue Sticks

Nautical Rope – I used 10 packages from Dollar Tree to make 3 ghosts or you can buy this Rope from Amazon

Step 1. The first step in making these DIY Boho Ghosts is to cut a piece of cardboard into a ghost shape, making sure to leave enough room at the bottom for the rope to hang so you can unravel it. You’ll need quite a bit of rope for each ghost—around 2 and a half packages. Thankfully, you can snag these at the Dollar Store.

Next, cut the rope into your desired lengths and glue it to the cardboard. Feel free to customize the size to suit your spooky décor.

Step 2. Unravel the rope from the bottom, allowing the strands to naturally separate and create a frayed, ghostly appearance. Once you’ve unraveled each piece to your liking, use scissors to trim the edges, giving them a clean, finished look that enhances the spooky, handmade charm of your decoration.

Step 3. Cut small pieces of black fabric or felt into the desired shapes for the eyes and mouth of your ghost. You can create different expressions by varying the shapes and sizes. Once you have your pieces ready, apply a small amount of glue to the back of each one and carefully position them on the ghost’s face. Press firmly to ensure they adhere properly. Now, your ghostly creation has a spooky, expressive face to match its eerie presence.

Step 4. Take a length of rope or twine, and apply a generous amount of glue to one end. Position this glued end at the top center of the back of your ghost, pressing firmly to ensure it sticks. Once the glue has dried and the rope or twine is securely attached, it will serve as a sturdy hanger for displaying your spooky ghost. This way, you can easily hang it on a hook or nail, adding a whimsical and eerie touch to your Halloween décor.
