Everything You Need To Know About Custom Closets

Owning a custom closet is something that many people dream of to modernize and utilize storage in a bedroom. There are so many different styles and add on’s that can be applied to allow your closet to transform your room. If you are struggling with storage in an awkwardly shaped room, then having a custom closet could be the way to go. It used to be a rare thought to have a custom closet, yet in recent years, they are becoming more affordable.

What are custom closets made of?

If you are looking for a closet that looks beautiful yet long-lasting, then Melamine is the best material to choose, more than likely a Melamine resin. Which is a type of thermosetting plastic that is cured via crosslinking and processes that dehydrate the resin.

Whatever your design or desires, you’ll often find that Melamine will cater to most designs. This material comes in various thicknesses and sizes to accommodate larger closet styles as well as smaller options. Usually, with other materials, the thinner and smaller you choose will lead to your closet to become flimsy and damaged over a short period. Still, Melamine, even if you opt for a thinner piece, has a weighty feel. This will allow a lot more durability as well as leaving a higher quality finish for longer. There’s no need to worry about stacking your clothes on to your shelves and worrying that they will bend with the excessive weight.

Customizable

Whether your interior plans are chic and minimal or filled with color and gorgeous patterns, you can often find Melamine in multiple designs and colors. The beauty of this is that you can match your new custom closet with the furniture you currently have.

Wood is an excellent way of adding a classic style to your interior, which never goes out of fashion. There are various tones of wood and shades that compliment your other pieces in your room.

Take the time to research the various colors and styles that are on the market. This will help you to ensure your custom closet is designed for your day to day activities and the items that you are going to store in them. It will also allow your closet to fit seamlessly into your room style to avoid it sticking out like a sore thumb.

Costs…

When it comes to redecorating, it can often be a costly project. There is a stigma that custom closets are expensive, but using Melamine rather than wood can be a cheaper option. You will not lose out on how it looks and what finishing you are looking for after.

Hopefully, with this guide, you will be able to pick out precisely what you are looking for when it comes to having a custom closet. It’s a great way to allow extra storage without wasting an inch of space. Melamine will be a cheaper option while being hard, wearing, and complementing your space to look after your clothing items.

I would love to have custom cabinets in all of my closets. We have only our master bedroom closet custom and I love it.

We were able to do custom in ours too. When we renovated we thought about doing them ourselves but then hired a guy to do them for us instead. So much easier!!!
