DIY Plaid Pumpkin Pillows
I made these fun and easy pillows for an Instagram challenge that I am a part of called #DreamItDoitDIYit, and I thought I would write up a little tutorial for my blog too on how I made them.

Materials Used for this Project…Pack of 2 18×18 inch Plain Pillow Cases from Amazon |
Step 1….
I started by ordering these plain, 18 x 18 inch pillow cases from Amazon. They were pretty wrinkled when I opened the package so I made sure to iron them first. To find plaid material, I took a trip to Goodwill and once I spotted these men’s blue pajama pants for $3.99, I knew I found what I was looking for. The blues in this plaid are my jam and match all my decor. I washed and ironed those as well.
To get started on the pillows, first I printed out a pumpkin shape from the internet. Then I traced it onto my fabric and cut it out.
Step 2…
Next, I unraveled a piece of my nautical rope. Using my glue gun, I glued the nautical rope onto the pumpkin, doing the lines in the middle first, then the edges last. Once I was happy with how the rope looked, and it was all trimmed and looking good, I glued them to the center of the pillow. Lastly, I stuffed a pillow insert into it and put them on my couch.
The finished product…
Here they are. I made 2 pillows. They aren’t perfect, but they are pretty cute and were very inexpensive to make. What do you think?
