DIY – Pool Noodle Nautical Wreath

I bought a bunch of pool noodles to create one of the events in the American Ninja Warrior party we had last year for my son’s birthday.  They don’t get used and were just taking up space, so I decided to make a DIY Pool Noodle Nautical Wreath out of one of them for our Tiki Bar.  Who knew there were so  many uses for pool noodles? I saw this on Pinterest, but put my own spin on it.  It is so easy.  Here is how I did it.

Materials Used in this Project

Pool Noodle

White Ribbon

Navy Burlap Ribbon

Glue gun

Twine

Step 1 – DIY Pool Noodle turned Nautical Life Preserver

I started by making the noodle into a circle and taped it together.

Step 2 – Adding the Ribbon

Hobby Lobby has tons of great ribbon options.  I found this white and this navy blue ribbon that I thought looked pretty nautical.  Alternate the white and navy, and then glue it to the noodle with a glue gun.  I used 2 rolls of the white and had some left over blue.

Step 3 – Adding the Twine

Once I was done gluing the ribbon, I wrapped twine around the edges of the blue to hide the seams and to make it look more nautical.

Step 4 – the finishing touches

To hang it I used some thicker rope and also glued on an anchor but you could skip this step if you wanted to.

And that’s it!  So simple and easy and it looks pretty cute and only took me about a half hour to make and not much money. Give it a try.
