A while back I showed you our guest bedroom, and today I am going to show you the guest bathroom. When we purchased this house, the bathroom (well, the whole house really) was very outdated, had laminate floors, bad lighting, fake wood cabinets, and old school fluorescent enclosed lights, ya know, the whole nine yards. However, it was a decent size. Perfect for a guest bath. This bathroom has a bedroom on either side of it. One we use as our guest bedroom and the other the guest ‘lounge’, aka the man cave, tv and movie watching room, etc. It is a room with many purposes, but when guests are here they use it as a living area.
I really don’t have a lot of ‘before’ pictures of this bathroom, just these 2 below and one looks so yellowish even though the walls were white. I think that picture was from the real estate listing. Anyway, here they are…
Guest Bath – Before
Guest Bath – Before
We started by gutting the whole space except for the toilet. And then it was left that way for what felt like forever, as we waited and waited and waited for everything else to get done.
The layout stayed the same but we turned the tub into a stand up shower with some beautiful river rock tiles, and replaced the floors, vanity, toilet and window. Here are some in progress pictures.

So, there you have it. A nice updated bathroom. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
I just got back from the most incredible trip. My first Super Bowl!
Maybe my close friends are tired of hearing about my Super Bowl trip, but I don’t care. I’m still on a ‘high’ from it. It was amazing. Also, I really wanted to write a post about it while all the details are still fresh in my mind. So here goes…..
When I met my husband (Chris) 17 years ago I learned he was a die-hard Patriots fan (as many people are in New England). He grew up just two towns away from Foxboro in the town of Norwood, and his family had season tickets, which meant he grew up going to games. He went to his first game was when he was 8. Later he would split the season tickets with his dad and go to ALL the games, and they still go to this day. Even after we moved to Naples he continues to fly up to MA for every home game, although he has missed a few here and there. That means he’s been going to games for over 40 years and his family has been season ticket holders for 47 years. He has been to all 9 of the Patriots’ Super Bowl’s, including the one in 1985 against the Bears, and 1996 against Green Bay (both of which we lost, by the way) and not just the more recent ‘Tom Brady, Bill Belichick’ ones. Needless to say he is a huge fan.
When the Patriots beat the Steelers back in 2001 to advance to the Super Bowl, we had a party at our condo. As soon as they won, my husband was on the phone with his dad making plans to go to Louisiana. I remember thinking, WOW, he means business. I also remember thinking, WOW he has had a few too many beers. But he wasn’t going to bed until he had a flight and hotel room booked. He was going to that game no matter what. And he did.
And he did the same with all the other Super Bowls that the Patriots have been too.
I tell you all this just so you get the picture of what a super fan he is. He loves football. He played it his whole life and in college and even went on to become a head college football coach at Curry College in MA and then the Defensive Coordinator at MIT, and still continues to coach as the Special Teams coach for a local high school team here in Naples.
This year after the Patriots beat the Steelers to go to the Super Bowl, his dad told him to take me. He’d been to enough games and said, ‘take your wife this time’. Lucky me! Thanks father-in-law! I don’t claim to be as die hard a fan as my husband (or his father), but I grew up watching games too and after I met him have become a huge fan. Needless to say when he told me I was going, I was ecstatic. Who wouldn’t want to go to the Big Game?
Over the years my husband has upgraded his season tickets to club level seats at Gillette Stadium, and as such he gets 2 automatic Super Bowl tickets. These tickets were decent but we were able to upgrade those to the most incredible seats ever. We were on the 45 yard line, 14 rows from the field. These seats did not suck! They were amazing.
Our amazing seats.
Selfie at our seats!
The hardest part of the trip was having to wait all day for the game.
We went early to find parking and hang out a little before hand. It was a huge party. There were bands playing, food trucks, all the tv stations and big time announcers there. It was so much fun. We went into the stadium around 4pm, for a 5:30 kickoff. Different time zone. I just wanted to get to our seats!
Outside the stadium before the game

Expectations were high, of course, as the Patriots were favored to win, so when the score at the half was 28 – 3, things were not looking good. I was determined though to enjoy myself win or lose, and just soak in the experience. Yes it would suck big time if they lost, but I was lucky enough to be there and I was going to try to enjoy every minute.
The Lady Gaga half time show was great. She was amazing. My husband on the other hand was freaking out the entire half time. He kept saying, thats it, it’s more than likely over. The coach in him was thinking ‘it is mathematically close to impossible based on the clock and number of possessions for both teams for the Patriots to come back from that big of a deficit’. I thought differently and was trying to cheer him up. Ya just never know. Miracles do happen! Things started to turn around and they scored a touchdown, but then missed the extra point. Then Atlanta got the ball back and I said to my husband, ‘if only they could get a turn-over right now’! And guess what, they got a freakin’ turn-over. And then a touchdown. And then a 2 point conversion. And then that cray cray, totally amazing Edelman catch, another touchdown and another two point conversion to tie up the game. What? The place was going absolutely crazy. They had done the impossible. The unheard of. It was the biggest come back in Super Bowl history. Everyone was freaking out, screaming, cheering, and some people were even crying a little (and by some people I mean me). Then overtime (the first overtime in Super Bowl history) and then we scored the final and winning touchdown. IT. WAS. AMAZING! Confetti flying everywhere, the team celebrating on the field, the crowd going absolutely insane, more tears, strangers hugging and high-fiving each other, my husband and I hugging and screaming. It was the best game ever and one of the most incredible things I’ve ever had the privilege to witness. I feel so lucky to have been there.
To say my husband was happy they won is an understatement.
We stayed for the Lombardi presentation, of course. When Comissioner Goodell came out the boos were so loud. It was a collective F.U. to him for the 4 game Brady suspension, which most people thought was an unfair punishment for that stupid alleged ‘Deflategate’ scandal. Then the Kraft speech and the Brady speech. More tears from me as they showed Brady on the big screen with tears in his eyes.
Then we met up with some friends at the Patriots post game party. Again, I am so lucky to have been able to go to this. We scored tickets from a friend at the very last minute (they were meant for his client who decided not to go), and it was awesome. Live music from John Legend, Old Dominion and PitBull. Open bar, food, fans and players walking around celebrating. We finally left around 3am and the party wasn’t even close to being over. I think they may have even had more music acts planned.
Nate Solder and my husband. Look how small he looks compared to him. He is 6’8″, my husband is 5’11”

Selfie at the after party.
We then had to walk like 2 miles to get to our car. Back to the hotel around 3:45 am. I haven’t stayed out that late in a LONG time. I try to sleep with no success. We turn the tv on to watch the replays and the news reports. They all agreed it was one of the best Super Bowls in history. Doze off for a little while but then have to get up and get ready to go to the airport. Back to reality. So exhausted but so worth it!
Thank you to my mom for watching our kids and to my father-in-law for letting me go AND for watching the kids too.
Now, I know all of you reading this might not feel as happy as we did about the outcome of the game, but this is my team and we support them always. In good times and bad. Just like you support yours. I know how people feel about the Patriots saying we are cheaters, but you can’t deny that we had the best comeback in the history of the Super Bowl, and the best winning percentage of the 21st Century, and the most Super Bowl championships of the 21st Century – 5! You just can’t.
Oh, and number 6 is next year in Minneapolis. Go Pats!!!!!
Summer is flying by. I can’t believe it is already mid July! We hosted our first House house party on July 4th. It was just a smallish, last minute get together but it was a great time. We lit some fireworks off in our backyard (it is legal here in FL) but it was hard to compete with natures fireworks. The lighting storm was CRAZY.
Cheers! I love how so many people fit around my island!
Beautiful and eerie sky that night!
Even caught a rainbow
Getting ready for fireworks!
Nothing makes you get more organized or more ready to hang pictures, decorate, and clean than hosting a party. 🙂 My husband and I were scrambling to hang artwork and get rid of every last unpacked box in the house. It wasn’t completely ready (and still isn’t) but it was good enough and our guests didn’t seem to mind.
We’d been waiting for our stair railing to get installed since before we moved in, but once the carpenter came to do it he realized he couldn’t. The pieces were not correct! So, we ordered the right ones. Well, he went to pick those up and they STILL weren’t right. We’ve been living without a railing since move in day (probably not the safest thing, but whatcha gonna do, right?). Well, it finally got installed this week, and guess what….he still wasn’t able to finish! WHAT? We were short just a few pieces (of the wood thread that holds the rails in place) which should be in stock in the next few days. It is sturdy enough the way it is now but probably wouldn’t pass inspection. At least it is up, finally! Lastly the wood railing will need to be stained.
Cork Boards DIY Project…
Remember these boards that I talked about a while back? That thing leaning behind the desk in this picture?
Well, the hubs and I fixed them up a bit. I painted them (Pure Pewter) and he glued a nice frame around them and then we hung them in the kids rooms. Looks MUCH better, right?

Our sod is supposed to be going in the next 2 weeks. I can hardly wait. Especially in the front yard. It just looks so terrible out their and I know that putting down some grass will make all the difference in the world! Apparently there is some prep work that needs to happen first. They came and dug up all the nasty roots and leveled the front yard. They also sprayed all the weeds too. So, it is almost sod ready. I’ll keep ya posted, of course.
Things have definitely slowed down at the House house. We’re still searching for some furniture for the living room. I may have found someone to make us something custom for not to much money. AND, I have been given the go ahead from my husband to refinish our dining room table! Not sure I’ll be able to get to it anytime soon though since the kids are home from school and we’ve been trying to plan activities to keep them busy. Maybe I’ll have them help me. We’ll see!
Here was me Friday night chillin’ in the pool watching the Red Sox on our 2 outdoor tv’s. And a picture of the kids with our new pool pet, Ben (the kids named him. I would have went with something like Polly. LOL). The pool water is so warm, just the way I like it! 🙂

Thanks for reading. Does anyone have any fun DIY projects they want to share with me?
I can’t believe its been so long since I’ve posted anything. Sorry. The kids have been out of school since June 7th and it makes it hard to get any writing done, plus we’ve been concentrating on getting stuff accomplished around the house, and we went away for 5 days. Anyway, we are still getting settled in and figuring out how to decorate our HUGE living room. Lots of little things, and big things too, have been done in the last couple of weeks like; repaired a bunch of drywall holes, mounted tv’s on the walls, landscaping, driveway pavers….but there is still a lot of little things to finish up like; install backsplash tile, finish hanging curtains/shades, hang artwork, install dining room chandelier….the list goes on and on.
Here are some things that did get done.
I can’t believe it! We finally have a pool!!!! And our yard has finally been leveled and there is no more giant dirt pile. It looks amazing, and huge, and in desperate need of grass and landscaping (which is coming really soon)! There was a catch though. We couldn’t use the damn thing for 3 weeks. 3 weeks! Who knew? The pool finally gets finished and then we had to wait to swim in it? Apparently we needed to wait for the water to balance and the plaster to set before going in or we could have damaged it. 🙁
Anyway, here are some pictures of it.
Pool, before water
Yard, with dirt pile gone!
What do you think?
We waited until we got back from our trip to Boston to finally jump in, which was just this week! It was worth the wait.
Our old beat up driveway got a nice overhaul. And, its much bigger now too. It looks awesome.
Driveway, after (shaded by tree)
The closets and pantry are done. What a relief that it. I was so sick of looking at the piles of stuff all over the place. Here are some pictures of my closet. Yes, I get my own! It’s not huge but definitely plenty big for me. I actually have tons of room left over that I need to fill up. Shopping trip!!!
I finally got a nice pantry. Our last house had a very small one. This one is not huge either, but there is PLENTY of space for everything I need and then some. There is a beam that runs right through this space so we did shelves on either side and then small shelves in front of it for spices, oils and stuff like that. I am very happy with how it turned out.
I won’t bore you with any more closet photos but the rest of them are just as nice and offer us plenty of storage.
We are having trouble figuring out how to decorate this huge space and we need to buy some new furniture for sure. We just haven’t had much time and/or money right now.
Here are some pictures of it. Try to ignore all the clutter….boxes, picture frames, etc. 🙂

Huge living area
What to do with this area?
We would like to keep the sectional, for now, which faces the tv. Our issue is what to do with the rest of the space? I am thinking of getting a seating/conversation area to put on the other wall. Right now we have our old very dark chocolate brown furniture over there, which just doesn’t seem to match, and will be getting painted or something soon. We will figure it out. What would you do with all this space? Suggestions welcome!!!
My awesome and gorgeous backsplash tile finally arrived. You may remember me talking about it in my last post. I am hoping to actually get it installed next week. We’re in the process of finding someone to do it now. It’ll go on this wall.
We are close to getting the kids rooms complete. There are just a few more things that need to be hung and organized. Maybe next time I post I will finally have a ‘room reveal’ for you.
That is all I got for now. I’ll try to post something real soon. Thanks for reading.
If you are new to my blog, welcome! We have been renovating a house in Naples, Florida for the last year. We finally moved in a few weeks ago, on Mother’s Day. It has been a very long, and sometimes hard and frustrating journey, but we are so happy and love our new house. You can check out all my past updates here.
There is still a lot happening around here at the House house and we still don’t have a finished pool. 🙁 We were really hoping to have it finished for this weekend (Memorial Day) so we could have our first House house party. We just have to be a little more patient. Here is what we’ve been up to.
I finally found a backsplash, thanks to this blog, sandandsisal.com. I had been searching and searching and happened to see this tile on her Instagram and knew it was ‘the one’. The tiles are from Lunada Bay Tile and I heart them so much. I got myself a sample from a local showroom and they are perfect. Now, I just need to get them ordered and installed. Once installed I can finally get my oven hood put up! Please, if you have a moment, check out the Sand and Sisal blog and her Coastal Kitchen Makeover post. It is awesome!
My Kitchen Wall before backsplash
My Kitchen Wall without a backsplash
I mean, how perfect is this tile gonna look on this wall? And then add the hood and it’ll be DONE!
Oh wait, that is not true. I still need to get some lights for over the island. My mom had given me some very nice pendant lights she has held onto for a long time. She got them when she worked in the Boston Design Center years ago. They would have been perfect except for the voltage wasn’t right and the electrician said he couldn’t use them. Stinks! Anyway, I actually saw some nice pendant lights at Lowes that I think I will pick up. My husband thinks they look like upside down wine glasses. HA! They kinda do and we love wine so……
It’s the little things. We hung toilet paper holders, hand towel holders and mirrors in 3 of our bathrooms. The kids bath still needs a cabinet for some more storage and the master needs to be finished too. There are some holes in the walls in the master that need to be repaired before we can hang mirrors. Still lots to do. Notice my DIY Dolphin and Seahorse hanging up in the kids bath? I still feel like there needs a little more something in here. In due time….
We did manage to hang some artwork over the tub in the master though. I found these pictures at Marshall’s and think they look pretty darn good. They are so pretty. By the way, this tub is the bomb! I’ve used it a few times and it is truly awesome. It is so deep you could get lost in it.
I spent the good part of 2 days chalk painting these old, beat up desks for my kids to use. They came out pretty good. They love them. We also upcycled these old, flat, box springs from their old beds. We had them in the boys rooms waiting to be taken down to the garage and disposed of. 2 different friends asked me what they were and both said you should put them up against the wall and let the kids use them as message boards…..so we did and we love it.
Closets are getting installed as we speak. Wahoooo! I am anxious to see how they look. Once these are done we will be able to get so much more organized! Can’t stand looking at my clothes on the floor anymore.
I am sure there is so much more that I haven’t even mentioned. I feel like we’ve been working non-stop and there is still so much to do. Anyone relate? Any questions, comments? Feel free to drop me a line.
Hi All! I took a break from posting last week as we were just a wee bit busy moving in. We still are! It takes forever to get settled. It also doesn’t help that there is still so much going on here. I wish I had an exciting “Room Reveal” post for this week, but I do not. In fact we don’t have one room finished here yet. (the above picture if our new screened in front entrance)
Here is all that happened since my last post.
If you’ve been following me from the beginning you may remember a post from last summer about picking out Appliances. They were finally delivered and I LOVE THEM ALL. Especially my wine fridge (which the bottles keep disappearing from ;-)) and dishwasher. The stand alone ice maker is not hooked up yet but I know I will love that too. It needs a special drain which is on order. The under counter microwave is super cool too. I still need to pick out a backsplash before we can install the hood over my stove. Gotta get on that!!! I finally had a second to go shopping this week and dragged my mom along to try to pick something out. It is overwhelming but I got a few idea’s of things I like, now I just gotta make a decision.
My new washer and dryer are the bomb-dot-com too. They are both HUGE.
Pool cage, ‘the view’ room, upstairs deck…
Our pool cage is complete and looks great. It is huge. We also enclosed the upstairs deck off the master and our front door entrance. I really didn’t think we needed to enclose the front entrance but I am really glad we did. My son calls it ‘the view’ room. Its kinda fun to sit out there with our wine while the kids play in the front yard. Our spiral staircase is built but not complete yet. It took 2 carpenters 2 full days to put this thing together. It had 3000 parts. 3000! But, it looks pretty amazing.

The pool people are supposed to be finishing up in the next week or so. I am sick of looking at the gross looking water. We want to swim already. It is HOT here. Also, it’d be nice to be able to move all the lanai furniture OUT OF OUR LIVING ROOM, where it is currently residing. It is such a mess. In due time though, right?
The electricians finished up most of their work. They still need to install the can lights and ceiling fans in the lanai, our master bathroom vanity lights, pendant lights over the island and a few other things too.
The painters finished up painting the lanai this week.
Still to do…..
We ordered custom closets but they have not been installed yet. They are on order and will be installed any day now. I can’t wait. It is driving me crazy that we can’t organize or put anything away. Clothes are just piled up on the floor in our rooms and in totes and stuff. Once they are in we will be able to get rid of so much clutter. What a relief that will be.
The driveway pavers are in our front yard stacked neatly and have been for a while now. The driveway is the last step and so we are close! Once the pool is complete we’ll be ready to tear up the old, cracked and dirty driveway.
We’ve got lots of furniture but will need to buy new stuff eventually. We are going to live with what we have for the time being. A lot of our stuff is chocolate brown which seems to dark for my taste these days, but we’ll have to live with it, for now. See what I mean? This is our dining room set. The table is to small for the room and we need a rug too, but don’t you think it looks to dark?
We have been without cable for a few weeks now. I miss tv, but not as much as I thought. We’ve been so busy right up until we go to bed that there is not time to watch anything anyway. It will be nice to have it back though. They come next week to hook us up.
A new sprinkler system will be installed soon so we can start to landscape this place. Also the giant dirt pile from the pool dig will be gone soon. Can’t wait to see that go. The kids will miss it though. They have a lot of fun playing in that pile, and getting plenty dirty.
We are all so happy to be here. We’ve all been sleeping better. The kids love being here and love their new bedrooms and especially the playroom. The neighborhood playground is almost right across the street so it is easy for them to get too, and they have lots of friends from school in the neighborhood. It has been fun having friends stop over to check out the house and hang out. We just love it all. We’ll be throwing our first House house party soon!
Well, it is finally happening. After owning this house for almost a YEAR AND A HALF, we are finally moving in! Ready or not, here we come!
We bought this place in December of 2014 then went through 2 architects and met with several contractors before we could even begin. Once we finalized the plans it took forever to get permits and for the work to actually begin. What a long process. But, it is all almost over.
After…still a work in progress
Now that we are moving in, instead of Weekly Updates I think I will do Room Reveals each week as we get them done and decorated. Sound good?
So much going on this week and so many last minute details. You can catch up on past updates if you’ve missed anything. Here is the latest…
My countertops were installed on Monday and they look a-maze-zing! I really love them and think they compliment the white cabinets nicely. They are Quartz but look like granite. I can hardly wait to cook in this damn kitchen. We’ve been eating out a lot lately and it’s getting old. Plus, I love to cook. I had a very hard time getting a good picture of them. It was dark and rainy here today (and I forgot my ‘good’ camera so only had my iPhone, again!) and we still don’t have lights in the house. Speaking of lights…
Look at the size of that counter for my island! Its HUGE!
Bad lighting but it looks great.
The electricians come tomorrow to do there thang. The hubs and I had to sort of scramble to pick out some lighting and still do not have everything. Like vanity lights. Damn those are hard to pick out. I am going to order some online tonight. Thank you Amazon Prime for shipping them to me lickety split. I just hope I like them.
All of our appliances were delivered this week, only they couldn’t install them since the electrical outlets are not all finished. So, we have this big pile of boxes in our living room. But, as mentioned above, the electricians are going to be there Thursday and Friday to do there thang. Appliances will be connected on Friday.
As I mentioned last week the hubs and I were going to install this interlocking foam floor for our office/gym area. We successfully finished. It took much longer than we thought, plus we only had time to squeeze in and hour here and an hour there when we could. For the last 2 days we decided to stop everything and get it done.
We started with a T pattern across the room and worked off of that. The hardest part was laying the tape (that stuff is super sticky) and making the cuts on the edges of the room and corners. I can’t take much credit since my husband did the work (his poor back is sore today). I just played assistant. Anyway, it is done and we like how it came out.
Laying down our floor
Close up of tape.
Double sided tape.
Friday and Saturday they will install our carpet. Saturday our 2 PODS are getting delivered and then we can start unpacking.
There are things that will not be done until AFTER we move in but nothing we can’t live without. Like doorknobs (they are on order), the pool cage (supposed to be getting done soon), and a few other things. BUT, they will get done.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY
I just wanted to take a moment to wish ALL you mommy’s out there a Happy Mother’s Day. Especially my own mother and my mother-in-law who is flying in Saturday to help us move in. Our day will be full of unpacking and lifting furniture but my biggest gift will be moving into our new house so I can’t complain. What could be better, really? Hope you all have great day’s with your families.
We’ve made lots more progress on the House house. We are targeting a move in date for the first weekend in May. That is less than 2 weeks away! The house might not be totally done but it’ll be damn close.
I’ve been so busy I barely had time to write today’s post. But here goes nothing….
Check out my new kitchen! It is beautiful. We are still waiting on counters (which will probably be installed early next week), appliances (which come this Friday) and faucets (which obviously need a sink and counters to install it on).
New kitchen, view from garage entrance
View from sliders.
And here is another reminder of what it looked like before…
Check out my fabulous tub! Pretty, right? I likie! Can’t wait to soak in this bad boy.
Plumbers also installed a toilet and one shower head too. Lots more to do but they’re getting there.
Upstairs Deck Tile…
We found this great porcelain tile that looks like wood at Home Depot for pretty cheap for the small deck that is off the master bedroom. Once this is done we can install the spiral staircase that will go from this deck to the pool downstairs. Can’t wait to see this installed. The staircase is in our garage right now.
My husband and I are going to attempt to install this floor tomorrow. It is interlocking foam flooring used in gyms (and other places too), but it looks like travertine tile! Half of the office if a gym so my husband wanted this type of flooring in there so we figured we would just install it throughout the room. We cleaned out and cleared out this room today. Wish us luck!
You guys, things are really moving along now! It is awesome. Check out my past updates here, in case you’ve missed anything.
All the custom bathroom cabinets have been installed, except for the small powder bath which we decided to not go custom on. We’ll purchase something ourselves for that. I’m trying to find something a little different and not white for that bathroom.

Our hardwood floors have been installed. They did this pretty quick. Only took them a day and a half. Not bad. They look freakin’ awesome and really lighten up the space. Plus they fit into my idea of a beachy/coastal look. You like? I dig em’! They might not be your thang and thats okay with me.

Pool Pavers Done…
Our pool pavers are all done too. Check them out. Can’t wait to take a dip in this pool and to have our first House house pool party.
“We’ll have a house party, we don’t need nobody
Turn your TV off, break that boom-box out
We’ll wake up all the neighbours ’til the whole block hates us
And the cops will show up and try to shut us down”
Anyone know that song? That’ll be us soon. Except we’ll probably invite the neighbors. It’s the least we can do for putting up with this remodel for the past 8 months!
Pool Pavers Done!

Our kitchen cabinets are getting delivered tomorrow. So excited!!! And we finally picked some Quartz for our counters. This was tricky because of the size of our island. It’s HUGE. We will need to use 2 slabs of quartz on the island. There will be a seam down the middle but they assure me it won’t be that visible. They told us not to pick anything that had to much movement in it. We picked Cloud Nine by Pompeii Quartz for the counters and are getting quotes for some recycled glass mosaic counters for the kids bath.
I can’t wait to see my gigantic island get installed. Appliances are scheduled for Friday of next week.
Here is a reminder of what the kitchen looked like when we bought this house.
Low ceilings, outdated cabinets, and fake wood countertops, oh my!
And here is what it will look like soon.
From Dumpster Diving to Upcycling…
Last week my husband and I went dumpster diving in our dumpster to rescue a ton of pool pavers that were thrown in there. We’ll use them for something. We also have so many left over pallets and other materials from this remodel. Its cray-cray! We want to do some upcycling with all this stuff. There are a zillion different idea’s on Pinterest. Think we could make this porch swing out of all our pallets?
We need to pick out lighting for our house. More decisions. Yikes. It gets so overwhelming.
Almost there now….lots more progress next week. Hopefully! Thanks for reading.
We moved, again. We are now in my husband’s aunt and uncles condo in East Naples. So thankful that we had this option! We can’t thank them enough for letting us use it until they come down for a visit next month. 🙂
Speaking of family, we had a great visit with my brother-in-law and family this weekend. It was so nice to see them and my kids had an absolute ball with their cousins. We spent all day Sunday at their hotel, Naples Beach Resort, and then took them out on our boat all day yesterday. The weather was perfect and it was so nice to catch up with them. They even got a tour of the House house!
Anyway, on to the House house updates…
The tile in the entire house is done. It looks great. Take a look. (Not shown are powder bath, kids bath and laundry room.)
The pool tile is done too. It looks amazing. These tiles change color when the sunlight hits them. It is very pretty. They started prepping the pool area and lanai for pavers today! Not sure how long this takes but it is a LARGE area so I suspect it’ll take a while. We’ll see.
The pool company accidentally delivered one full pallet of the wrong color pavers so they threw them into the dumpster! My husband noticed they were in there so the 2 of us went dumpster diving to save them all. We will definitely use these for something. Maybe a fire pit for the backyard.
Can you believe we finally just got our electricity up and running? I know! It literally took forever. It stinks because it is out of our hands and into the hands of Florida Power and Light (FPL). You have to work around their schedule and it took forever for them to come out for an inspection.
Electricity means we have AC…
Yup, all this time we have not had air conditioning in our house. Thankfully it hasn’t been crazy hot and thankfully we invested in some super awesome windows and upgraded our insulation and both keep it reasonable cool inside the house without the AC on. But, none of that matters now because it is on and cooling off the place.
The wood floors will be getting delivered in the next few days so that they can acclimate and they will begin floor prep on Friday. I can’t wait to see them!!! After wood floor means the kitchen cabinets will be installed!
Not sure when the carpet is supposed to get installed but it’ll be soon.
Bathroom vanities and plumbing need to be finished.
