About Me

Hi, I’m Jodi House. Welcome to the House house.  It only seemed fitting to name my blog ‘the House house’ since our last name is House and it’s all about our house.  😉 I started blogging in 2015 when we bought a house that needed A LOT of work.  I thought it would be fun to document our progress for family and friends and whoever else might be interested.  We completely gutted the house, added an addition on the back, added a second floor, oh and a pool too!  Yup, we pretty much doubled the square footage of the house and redid every room. It was a lot of work and it took a long time but it was so fun blogging all about it.  We moved into the House house in 2016 and now my blog has more of a home decor, DIY focus.

A little more about me.

Originally I’m from Massachusetts but now live in beautiful Naples, Florida. My family and I moved here on the very first day of 2010.  I have to say that I do not miss the cold New England winters.  Not one damn bit!  I am the wife of a fun-loving husband (whom I call my third child) and a stay at home mom to 2 active boys.  We love going to the beach, out on our boat, and going on family travel adventures.  We’ve also been know to throw some pretty fun parties.  But, mostly we’re home bodies and LOVE staying in and enjoying the House house.

I am so glad you’re here.  Please stay awhile and check things out.

I have a nice sized home office/craft room. I’m looking for a really nice cool way to hide the things I have to put under my craft desk/table. I don’t want to just make a curtain, I think they look cheap and cheesy. I thought I saw a mention of a blog when I first got sent to this site, I was thinking that other people might have some ideas. I have one of my own, but I’m anxious to see what other might have.
